GENERAL GAME SHARE TERMS & CONDITIONS
Standard 1st class postage swaps cost 1 credit per game (each bonus game costs 1 additional credit and some items cost more than 1 credit). If recorded delivery is requested this costs 1 extra credit per game. You receive 5 credits automatically with a GOLD account for £5. Extra credits can be purchased at £4.45 for 5 (89p each). This charge is to cover the administration and postage costs of forwarding on swapped games and does not represent a charge for buying or hiring the game. There are no hidden costs involved with a game swap.
We only deal with original goods. By listing on the site you agree that your item is an original, that it is not a copy or a download and that it is yours to swap.
All members must have a postal address within the UK and transactions are in Pounds Sterling. We do not allow PO Box addresses to be used.
You are not permitted to exchange any kind of personal information with other members through our system which may result in a swap being completed without passing through Game Share. Your swap will not be guaranteed and you're risking losing your game. We're providing a system to eliminate the risked associated with blind swapping. Any such activity may result in your account being suspended.
More than one Game Share account registration per individual is not permitted.
THE GAMESHARE PROMISE
Game Share tests all swapped games, except games that have original retail seals intact. We carry out carefull visual inspections on all discs and play test as fully as possible. If we receive a game in non working condition the swap is void, the faulty game(s) will be returned at the cost of 1 extra swap credit per game (including swap partners games). In this event all working games included in the swap will be returned to the appropriate members at no additional cost.
When we receive a game with the original retail seal intact, we do not open them. We respect the increased swapping value of sealed games. However, if the game is faulty the responsibility lies with the swappers and not Game Share.
We will endeavour to turn around all swaps within 48 hours of receiving the games from both parties. However, in certain situations where more extensive testing is required this time frame may be longer. If there is going to be a delay, you will be kept informed via email.
In the unlikely event of a faulty game passing through our testing process, we will replace the game free of charge once you have provided proof that the game is faulty. It's normally sufficient proof if you send the game back to us with a full description of the fault.
Rest assured that no games will be forwarded onto recipients until both games in the swap have been received, inspected and tested by our team.
Game Share will send games via franked 2nd class post (1-3 days) and will always obtain proof of posting. In the rare event of a game sent out by Game Share being lost in the postal system Game Share will make the compensation claim to Royal Mail. The Game Share member's name and address will be given to Royal Mail as part of the compensation claim process. Compensation is limited to £32 or the market value of the item, whichever is lower. The member will be contacted by Royal Mail via letter to confirm that the item was not received. Items are not considered lost by Royal Mail until 10 days after the expected delivery date. False claims for compensation can result in criminal prosecution of the receiver (Member), NOT the sender (Game Share). You can view the compensation form in PDF format by clicking here.
We cannot take responsibility for games being lost in the post when on their way to us. We recommend that you always obtain proof of posting so that you can make a compensation claim to Royal Mail. You do not need to send your game recorded in order to claim compensation.
In association with the PEGI rating system, Game Share does not allow members to receive swap offers for inappropriately aged games. If you're under the age of 18 please contact us and we can give you options as to what you can do.
STANDARD SWAP & GAME TERMS & CONDITIONS
Game Share deals with pre-owned games only. As such it is understood that items will not always be in mint condition and may have some minor damage to their packaging. However, by listing an item you agree that it is in full working order. You can list the games condition when adding a game to your game list.
All Games must be UK PAL or region free and must be playable on an unmodified UK specification system.
If you have not received the game you have swapped for after 10 days you are entitled to cancel the swap, have your game returned and your credits refunded. This is done via the "My Swaps -> Offers" page.
Our system handles all of the swaps automatically. However, all communication with members from the system regarding swaps is via email. Therefore, please be patient whilst waiting for other members to accept or refuse swaps.
By listing a game for swapping you agree to post it to us within 10 days of a swap being agreed. If you no longer wish to swap a game you MUST remove it from your games list on the "My Swaps -> My Games" page.
You agree to follow our packaging guidelines and use good quality padded bags to post the games to us. We cannot be held responsible for damage to games caused through poor packaging. All games sent out by Game Share will be securely packaged, labelled AND franked.
Where ever possible we will reuse the padded bags in order to reduce the amount of waste produced by Game Share.
In order to accept a swap you agree to mark the swap as accepted on the "My Swaps" page and that this is a legally binding acceptance of the swap.
Once you have received the swapped game you agree to mark the swap as complete, this is a legally binding acceptance of the swapped game. Once accepted, we will only replace the game in exceptional circumstances.
If you're not satisfied with the swapped game you agree that you will return it to us (at your own postage cost) and you will receive a refund of your Game Share credit. We will do our best to recover your game from the other party involved in the swap.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
We care about the planet we live on, so we have a policy to reuse as many padded bags and packaging as practical. Any packaging which cannot be reused will be recycled wherever possible.
DATA PROTECTION
Your personal information will NOT be disclosed to other members before, during or after swaps. As we process all swaps there is never any need for your personal information to be passed onto the other party involved in a swap. This keeps your identity safe throughout the entire swapping process.
We are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998. We will therefore only ask you for the minimum amount of information necessary to run the site.
Game Share does not pass personal details to any third parties, and we will not send any unsolicited emails to you. Advertising is part of the Game Share web site, and you may receive advertising banners within emails from us. We will only contact you regarding the running of the site, or to carry out a Game Share swap and will never send you any emails specifically for the purpose of advertising.
You are entitled to know what data we hold about you. If you wish to check that our records are correct then please check your "My Profile" page regularly. It is your responsibility to keep your details up to date.
If you no longer wish to participate in Game Share then you can permanently deactivate your account by emailing us at deleteme@gameshare.co.uk. We will remove all of your details from our system.
