HOW
IT WORKS
Game Share tests all swapped games. We carry out carefull visual inspections on all discs and play test each game as fully as possible.
We will endeavour to turn around all swaps within 48 hours of receiving the games from both parties.
In the unlikely event of a faulty game passing through our testing process, we will replace the game free of charge once you have provided proof that the game is faulty.
Rest assured that no games will be forwarded onto recipients until both games in the swap have been received, inspected and tested by our team.
Game Share will send games via franked 1st class post (1-2 days) and will always obtain proof of posting. In the rare event of a game sent out by Game Share being lost in the postal system Game Share will make the compensation claim to Royal Mail.
We care about the planet we live on, so we have a policy to reuse and recycle as much of the materials we use and receive as practical. Any packaging which cannot be reused will be recycled wherever possible. We have reduced Game Share's carbon footprint to as low as possible through the use of energy saving lightbulbs and IT equipment.
FACT: By using energy saving equipment and a reduction in the number of post runs each day, Game Share has reduced it's carbon footprint by 60%.
If we wanted to we could use hundreds of new padded bags every month. We're aware that most padded bags cannot be recycled due to the mix of materials that they are made from. Therefore, we have a policy of reusing padded bags where ever possible. Our aim is to achieve a reuse rate of above 50%. To help us do this, please use labels when addressing your packages so that we can remove them or alternatively write addresses on the envelopes small enough so that we can cover them with new labels.
All used stamps that arrive at the Game Share processing centre are removed and donated to local charities. These charities can claim cash for the stamps and put the money to good use.
FACT: On average, Game Share donates 150 stamps every month.
We carry out a careful visual inspection of the disc. At this stage we're looking for anything affecting the surface of the disc, such as fingerprints, smudges or scratches. This initial inspection determins whether or not we need to carry out steps 2 and 3, or whether we can skip directly to step 4.
If step 1 has revealed any problems we use specially designed disc cleaning cloths to remove fingerprints, smudges and minor scratches.
If there are still some significant marks or scratches on the disc we may use our disc cleaner. However, steps 2 & 3 usually result in playable discs.
Once steps 1 to 3 have been successfully completed, we play test the games in one of our testing consoles. Play testing involves resuming from various randomly saved points in the game. These points have been carefully selected to test the disc as thoroughly as possible.
Once testing has been completed successfully the game is quality control certified and a quality control tag is placed under the clear plstic cover of the case. The game is then passed onto the next team ready for repackaging and shipping to it's new owner.
